After 2015’s highly successful Jersey Live festival, organisers were quick to look at ways of matching and even surpassing that in 2016. Highlights of last year’s line-up included George Ezra, The Proclaimers and Rudimental, who entertained the crowd for a whole memorable weekend. Hoping to live up to the high standard set by last year’s headliners are the following acts.
Grammy-nominated duo Disclosure will be headlining the Saturday night slot on September 3rd. The platinum-selling brothers, who recently played to a crowd of 50,000 at Glastonbury, are taking over the coveted slot that has been traditionally filled by similarly popular acts from similar genres, including Basement Jaxx, Chase & Status and Fatboy Slim. Expect the duo to keep the dance crowd happy with hits from their two albums, Settle and Caracal, featuring the likes of Lorde, AlunaGeorge and Sam Smith.
The legendary London ska band are preparing to release a new album this October, Can’t Touch Us Now, and in support of the project Jersey Live will be one of their first live performances. “The Nutty Boys” have been entertaining massive crowds for decades, and it’s a great thing for the festival to have secured them for the Sunday 4th September headline slot. Madness previously headlined the festival five years ago, making their return even more exciting.
Known as a solo artist as well as for being the front man of alt-rock band The Verve, special guest Richard Ashcroft released his fourth solo project These People earlier this year, his first in over six years. He will appear before Disclosure on the Saturday night of Jersey Live.
After releasing a string of massive hit singles in the UK over the past two years, electronic/drum & bass due Sigma are taking to the Jersey Live stage for the first time ever this September. In the supporting slot on Sunday, we can expect to experience a fantastic set including some of their huge smash songs, featuring artists like Paloma Faith, Ella Henderson and Labrinth.
